Víctor Alonso is a photographer from Valladolid who began his professional career in 2007, initially focusing on musical events and performing arts. In 2015, during a trip to Japan, he discovered his passion for street photography, which has marked his style ever since. He has travelled all over the world, capturing urban scenes and unique moments, and has been recognised in international photography competitions. He has exhibited his work in cities such as Tokyo, London and Barcelona.
Shibui, both inspired by his fascination with Japanese pop culture and Tokyo urban life, with clear references to elements of manga, anime and video games. His work blends the nostalgia of cyberpunk aesthetics with acute observation of urban reality.
His latest project, The Last Game Center 最後のゲーセン, is a tribute to Japan's dying arcades. Alonso documented these spaces on a thirty-day journey through Japan, creating a visual map of the few arcade «hidden treasures» that remain in operation. The project includes over two hundred photographs that capture the magic and decadence of these places, evoking the culture of the 80s and 90s.
In addition to his work as a photographer, he has published several photobooks and held exhibitions at festivals such as the Ephemera Phestival in Valladolid and the Tokyo Street Photography Festival.
