This innovative interactive centre was inaugurated this Thursday by the President of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno; the President of the Provincial Council of Málaga, Francisco Salado and the Mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre. During the ceremony, the authorities highlighted the Costa del Sol's courageous commitment to digital leisure on an international level, an effort that is now underpinned by OXO and its fusion of the past, present and future of the industry.

From today, OXO is already a reality for Malaga and the province, as well as for the entire sector at an international level (with special emphasis on Europe), as it is a space without equal on the entire planet. The building in Plaza del Siglo 2, owned by the Provincial Council and ceded to the Malaga company Kaiju Group to promote this project, will open its doors to the public from tomorrow (Friday) with two exhibitions, one temporary and one permanent. At the same time, an exclusive immersive room - the only one of its kind in Andalusia - will allow the user to enter the heart of a video game.

In addition to Moreno, Salado and De la Torre, the inauguration was attended by other representatives of the three administrations, as well as personalities from different entities, including the Spanish Association of Video Games (AEVI), the Spanish Association of Video Game and Entertainment Software Developers (DEV), ONCE Foundation, MAPFRE and a long etcetera. Also in attendance were members of the municipal corporation and of the different parties represented.

The museum is an interactive space of almost 2,000 square metres dedicated entirely to digital leisure, from retro machines to the latest hardware and software innovations that can be seen at OXO Labs. Along the way there are more than 500 original pieces that make up the permanent exhibition, called ‘70 years of video game history’, where visitors can learn about the first steps of the industry and its evolution. Many of these devices work perfectly and visitors can play with them.

On the other hand, the first temporary exhibition that visitors to OXO will be able to see will be ‘Legendary Sagas: Volume 1’. Dedicated to analysing and celebrating the main franchises that have changed the way we understand video games. Call of Duty, Animal Crossing and God of War are the focus of the exhibition area with original pieces, interactive information panels and many surprises for fans of these titles.

At OXO Labs, you can get an up-close look at some of the latest technological innovations that nurture the sector, especially in the simulation and virtual reality sectors. The area is complemented by the first arcade simulators.

OXO also has a room for streaming, installed together with the company Informática IMPOSIVLE, as well as state-of-the-art equipment and never-before-seen installations that will allow attendees to interact with digital leisure in a new and comprehensive way.

The immersive room, located in the hall of the building, has half thirty projectors that envelop the viewer to generate an experience of depth. Visits to OXO will start in this space, which is unique in Andalusia (there are only two installations like this in the whole country).

OXO is coming to the city to become an ambassador for everyone in the industry in Spain. It will also be the meeting point for other international and local agents, with the aim of connecting with the sector, a community that is becoming more and more transversal and massive every day. That is why OXO Museo del Videojuego is opening its doors with various collaborators and sponsors, such as Cervezas San Miguel, Mapfre - a friend of OXO as a result of its agreement with Kaiju Group - and Arcade Planet.

[37

post-4814","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-noticias
["GET
